This is how much God loves you!!!  (Romans 8:38-39)

The consecrated widow

When you lose your husband, God…

1. Makes a special commitment to protect you…

…is based on his working through the channel of authority. God has established this chain for protection and direction of those under authority.

"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (1 Corinthians 11:3)

Now that the Lord is your head (husband) you are to be directly under his protection and direction. This will not only comfort you, but also enable you in your new ministry.

"A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation."
(Psalms 68:5 )

"The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down."(Psalms 146:9)

"For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment."(Deuteronomy 10:17-18)

"He is always watching, never sleeping, Jehovah Himself is caring for you" (Psalm 121:4,5 LB)

2. Assumes responsibility of swift judgment to any who wrong you…

"… and I will be a swift witness against… those that oppress the widow…" (Malachi 3:5)

"Woe unto you… for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation." (Matthew 23:14)

…it is a commitment that is based on his headship, and upon your prayers. God’s first laws given to man show this:

"If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry; And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless."
(Exodus 22:23-24 )

Since God is your head (husband) you need never fear what mere man can do to you.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

"Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow." (Isaiah 1:17 )

" Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s raiment to pledge:" (Deuteronomy 24:17)

" If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever." (Jeremiah 7:6-7)

"For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go" (Psalm 91:11 LB)

3. Will set up, make to stand as a pillar the enclosed place, belonging to the silent one.

"The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow." (Proverbs 15:25)

The key to this promise to you is in the word consecrated. Consecrated means to set apart yourself to God’s worship and service.

It is significant that the word widow means silent one. The character qualities of stillness, quietness and immobility are only evident in a person when she is resting in Christ.

Another meaning of silent is just the art of not speaking but listening. "Where there is no tale bearer, the strife ceaseth." (Proverbs 26:20)

"The (uncompromisingly) righteous shall flourish like the palm tree (be long lived, stately, upright, useful and fruitful)…
(Growing in grace) they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap (of spiritual vitality) and rich in the verdure (of trust, love, and contentment).

(They are living memorials) to shew that the LORD is upright and faithful to His promises: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." (Psalm 92:12-15 AMP)

The degree of protection you have from Him will be in proportion to your consecration to Him.
